and never have i ever is likeeee... u need to have a high tolerance for Bullshit to watch it. and u need to be able to suspend disbelief that this 30 year old man is a high schooler and accept that he's literally the weakest link of the entire show but they still spend way too much time trying to redeem his character for some reason. And u need to understand that they're trying to get at how teenage girls can be unlikable and mean and useless and how grief and trauma informs your response to stressful situations and on some level it works? But it's also a mindy kaling diaspora_kid production and it doesn't always work. But also some of the side characters are so likable and strong and i think the second half of s2 is like...? IT HAS ITS COMPLEXITY? i don't know. it's not AMAZING television and it's sooo cringe and embarrassing at some points but i think it has heart. MAYBE!!!! let me know if you try watching it <3
